About the Opportunity

Working as part of our Perth Environment team this exciting and diverse position will lead, manage, and complete a wide range of projects including, but not limited to, environmental assessments, environmental and planning approvals, environmental management and compliance projects and other integrated services as required.

The position includes scoping, planning, managing and actively completing environmental assessment and management projects including taking ownership of all aspects of project delivery to provide a fully integrated outcome. As a Principal, the role will include leading and empowering project teams to deliver high quality project outcomes in a manner that meets or exceeds our client's expectations. The role will also use their experience to guide and mentor junior members of the team.

In addition, the role will have a business development function including working with the WA Environment Manager and Regional Manager WA to build and maintain strong client relationships, and preparing of high-quality proposals to assist in winning new work and growing our sector diversity. .

The position is responsible for effective management of project budgets, timeframes, and resources to ensure effective project delivery, provide an ongoing focus on achieving quality project outcomes, and enhancing client relationships.

About you

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Principal Environmental Consultant who has:

  • A university qualification (bachelor's degree or higher) in environmental science or engineering or related discipline.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience within the WA Planning and Environment sector.
  • Extensive project experience, particularly in relation to the resources sector and delivery of integrated services and projects.
  • Consistent delivery of high-quality written deliverables.
  • Ability to lead, contribute to mentoring, continuous improvement and professional development as part of project delivery.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with clients, authorities, the community and other stakeholders, as required and appropriate to the issues being discussed.
  • Strong data analysis and investigation skills.
  • A sense of creativity, innovation, and empathy.
