We are looking for a new person to join our growing team. We are all passionate about what we do, including making real change on the ground through our work in envirommental markets, renewable fuels, circular economy and land regeneration.

We are casting our nets wide, looking for someone who will fit the values and drive of our organisation, and who can manage the carbon and land management parts of our business.

Frontier Carbon is part of the Frontier Impact Group (FIG), a climate-solutions advisory and investment firm, deploying specialist expertise at scale to drive financially viable, planet-friendly solutions and accelerate the global race to net zero.

Frontier Carbon aims to assist in the restoration of more than 50 million hectares of landscape in Australia by 2030.

We support biodiversity and healthy food production systems through holistic, regenerative land management that rehydrates the soil while supporting biodiversity, the health of our food system and building carbon in the soil.

We work with communities, land managers, not-for-profits and other organisations, leveraging environmental markets to secure investment and establish the new natural capital asset class.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Projects Manager will be engaged full-time or part-time to support FIG's carbon projects business (Frontier Carbon) with planning, project registration, stakeholder management, and administration while also contributing to internal project management and other activities, as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carbon and biodiversity projects
    • Manage the inception, registration and delivery of carbon and biodiversity projects through Frontier Carbon.
    • Have a sound working knowledge and know how to apply regulations, rules and methods around the regulated carbon and biodiversity markets.
  • Stakeholder management
    • Manage project delivery milestones in collaboration with clients, project partners and stakeholders.
    • Clearly explain the various market options to clients and stakeholders so they can make informed choices for their property and goals.
  • Stakeholder relationships (finding and building new connections)
    • Connect to new stakeholders.
    • Manage external stakeholder engagement.
    • Identify potential partnerships.
  • Communications
    • Create and manage documents and communications for project requirements (e.g. carbon registration, audits, milestones), for customers, stakeholders and other external people we work with, and for internal use.
    • Manage FIG's carbon-related social media and website content.
  • Other responsibilities
    • As required from time to time.
  • Working closely with the CEO and COO.

Priorities will be determined through discussion with the FIG executive team, which will be agreed with you from time to time.

Qualifications or experience

  • We are primarily looking for new team members who identify and practice our FIG values (see position description).
  • A positive and can-do attitude.
  • Melbourne-based (preferred but flexble for the right person).
  • Some carbon or biodiversity project experience.
  • Some agronomy experience.
  • Knowledge of the carbon regulated markets and how to apply different methods.
  • Understanding of the regulated and voluntary market options to talk through with clients about their options.
  • Your experience can come from a background in legal, land management, agronomy, environmental science or finance sectors.
  • Able to work well in a dynamic, fast-growing entrepreneurial business and can learn quickly.
  • Strong skills in verbal and written communication and time management.
  • Strong with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Good organisational, project management and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Some experience in business development would be desirable.
