About the Role

As a Full-Time Environmental Works Team Leader, you will be responsible to provide assistance in the delivery of various high-quality environmental services including weed control works, revegetation, wetland establishment, erosion control, tree works and chipping and consultancy.

You will be required to complete physically demanding manual work in the outdoors, and operate in a safe and effective team environment within the framework of our daily safety, quality and environmental management systems.

You will provide in field oversight of crew members including internal and seasonal casuals, for delivery of Environmental works. You will provide leadership and technical skills to ensure program and client outcomes are achieved safely, effectively, and efficiently.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience and capabilities working and leading field crews in Environmental, Conservation and Land Management and/or related sectors.
• Diploma or Degree in Conservation and Land Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture or related disciplines and/or extensive equivalent experience.
• Qualifications/ Licences: Current Victorian Manual Driver's Licence, First Aid Level 2, White Card, ACUP, Chainsaw Ticket.
• Competency and knowledge in a variety of environmental and natural resource management techniques and methodologies including revegetation, weed control and herbicide application, both mechanical and manual.
• Ability to take responsibility for ensuring own and team members physical and psychological wellbeing and safety.
• Advanced indigenous and exotic flora species identification skills.
• Advanced knowledge of a variety of safety and environmental hazards, risks and associated controls within a natural resource or waterway context.
• Actively contribute to trying different approaches and taking responsibility for actions.
• A drive and willingness to troubleshoot, apply problem solving skills, identify innovation and recommend solutions that achieve on ground quality, safety, technical and productivity outcomes.
• Sound self-awareness, people leadership and communication skills, with an ability to work in a team environment and proactively communicate clearly and effectively with a range of people.
• Knowledge and experience in computer use, report writing, GPS and mapping, and HSEQ management systems requirements.
• Competent use and ability to teach others about safe operation of a range of tools, equipment and small plant, ranging from hand tools to machinery.
