About the Role

We are currently looking for passionate Fauna Spotter Catchers to join our SEQ Wildlife Field team on a casual basis.

To be a successful candidate you must have the following:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in this field.
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects in a team or autonomously.
  • Must be confident in the safe capture and release of fauna including venomous snakes.
  • Must show demonstrated experience working with koalas and identifying threatened species.
  • Strong animal identification skills and data collection experience.

We are looking for applicants with initiative who prioritise safety and demonstrate strong situational awareness. This role requires determination and a passion to achieve positive environmental outcomes.

About You

  • Minimum two years fauna spotter catching experience.
  • Confident fauna handling and identification skills.
  • Understanding of wildlife management principles and fauna survey methods.
  • Construction industry white card.
  • Current First aid certificate.
  • Current manual driver's licence.
  • Four wheel driving certificate.
  • Venomous snake handling certificate.
  • Ability to work in a team or autonomously.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A willingness to travel and be away from home for short periods.

The following skills and attributes would be highly regarded:

  • Working at heights permit.
  • Chainsaw permits.
  • Pre-clearing survey experience.
  • Aquatic fauna salvage experience.
