Applications are sought for a suitably qualified individual to fill the Senior Data Analyst position within the Fisheries Information and Services Branch in Canberra.

As the Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for undertaking expert data analysis and analytics to create products, reports, and other materials that integrate data from a range of sources to deliver insights for the Fisheries Management Branch and across the agency as required. You will be responsible for value adding data holdings through the production of impactful reports, visualisations and dashboards. This will in turn support clients to realise value from data through data wrangling and complex analysis.

You will assist the Manager Business Intelligence, to deliver strategic engagement in data analytics and data analysis to AFMA through the implementation of AFMA's Data Strategy including investment in modernising AFMA's business IT systems and infrastructure.

You will be required to use your communication and negotiation skills to drive change in data usage for AFMA.

Eligibility

• AFMA staff are employed under the Australian Public Service Act 1999. Applicants must be Australian citizens.
• A baseline security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain such clearance.
• Proficiency in, or an aptitude for, T-SQL and database concepts. Ability to author, execute and review sometimes complex, T-SQL scripts.
