The Learning on Country Program gives students the knowledge and safety to work on country and with traditional owners and rangers to ensure connections are passed through to the next generation. The Learning on Country Program is delivered with a key focus on the senior secondary student cohort and between the Beswick and Barunga schools. Teaching and learning programmes are developed collaboratively between school, ranger staff, and steering committee. Focus being field based activiiteis, drawing on traditional and western knowledge systems.

Working under the guidance of the Jawoyn Learning on Country Steering Committee, their rangers and key cultural advisors of the Barunga and Beswick school communities, the LoC Coordinator aims to encourange the students to improve attendance, increasing literacy and numeracy skills, develop leadership, confidence and the employment capacity of students into Ranger employment and the wider job market.

Year 9 to year 12 stuents are the priority for this programme.
