This role is an amazing opportunity to work within National Parks and Wildlife Service in a Ranger position! This is the ideal role if you have a genuine interest in contributing to the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage values of parks.
About the role
Rangers provide effective management of natural, historic and Aboriginal values by undertaking, coordinating and supervising projects, environmental assessments, visitor and stakeholder liaison, and field-based activities including bushfire management and enforcement. You will be delivering projects related to fire and flood recovery, asset renewals and upgrades as well as day to day park management tasks.
About the branch
The South Coast Branch manages over 114 parks and reserves, including Montague Island Nature Reserve (listed under the IUCN Green List), and Aboriginal-owned and jointly managed Biamanga and Gulaga national parks.
Our parks and reserves are home to unique plants and animals, including the tall eucalypt forest (South East National Park) and the southern brown bandicoot. Each year, over 3 million visitors enjoy our spectacular beaches and high-quality walking tracks.
Eurobodalla Area stretches from Tathra in the south to Batemans Bay in the north and Braidwood in the west. The area consists of Deua National Park, Monga National Park, Eurobodalla National Park, Mimosa Rocks National Park, Wadbilliga National Park, Montague Island Nature Reserve, Kooraban National Park and several nature reserves. There are three works depots within the area being at Narooma, Tanja and Braidwood.
