The Department of Transport currently has three (3) fixed term full-time position for immediate filling all with the possibility of extension and or permanency:

  • 1X Project Manager Coastal Engineering SCL3 - fixed term contract until June 30, 2026.
  • 1X Project Manager Coastal Engineering SCL3 - fixed term contract until June 30, 2023.
  • 1X Coastal Engineer SCL2 - fixed term contract until to June 30, 2024.

Working in our Maritime directorate there is a unique and exciting opportunity to be involved in the investigation and engineering associated with development and improvement of our Maritime Facilities. There is also opportunity to be part of a strategic response to the Assessment of Coastal Erosion Hotspots in Western Australia, providing strong State leadership and partnership with local government in addressing the increasing threat of coastal erosion throughout Western Australia.

As our Project Manager Coastal Engineering SCL3, you will be responsible for the investigation and provision of specialist advice on coastal processes and engineering with respect to a variety of DoT Maritime coastal projects. To succeed in this role, you will be a strong communicator with substantial experience in the investigation, engineering, and project management of maritime and/or coastal engineering infrastructure projects.

As our Coastal Engineer SCL2, you will provide specialist coastal advice and undertake detailed investigations and analysis on coastal processes such as wave action, tides, currents, and other coastal and harbour monitoring data. Responsibilities include oceanographic data collection and analysis, design for maritime and coastal engineering works, field investigations, contract management, and assessment of impacts of coastal processes on developments in the coastal zone.
