Mooloolah River Landcare
Glenview, Sunshine Coast, Queensland
10 - 30hrs/wk. Part-time, Casual.
Mooloolah River Waterwatch and Landcare Inc (MRL) is a small but dynamic not-for-profit community group located at Glenview on the Sunshine Coast. MRL's mission is to empower people to protect and restore the natural environment of the Mooloolah River. This is achieved through MRL's retail native plant nursery, our biocontrol facility and through a range of on ground environmental projects including a significant project working with local landholders and stakeholders to deliver natural resource management projects.
About the role:
We are seeking an outstanding individual with a high level of understanding of land management practices, soil erosion, water quality and rehabilitation, who has excellent project and people management skills and a flair for stakeholder liaison and community engagement, to coordinate the various operations of MRL and deliver nrm projects. The Coordinator will oversee all MRL operations and staff (8) along with delivering significant nrm projects.
The successful applicant will head up our small but lively team. The role requires a forward thinker with drive and initiative who can also work with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You will have strong and demonstrated experience in nrm project management and be able to prioritise and deliver projects on time and within budget. To be a good fit for this role you'll be a down-to-earth type with a positive and engaging personality and a 'can do' attitude.
The role can be fast-paced and the duties varied, so flexibility and adaptability are required. You may be bouncing from staff scheduling to event preparation, then over to preparing a financial analysis for the management committee.
In return, we offer a very flexible work environment where you can set your own hours. You would predominantly work from our office at Glenview, with some work from home. This role offers fantastic work-life balance, a social and friendly workplace, and the opportunity to deliver environmental projects that make a tangible benefit to the catchment. We are a grass-roots, volunteer-driven organisation that does great work to improve our catchment. This key role offers a great opportunity to make a real difference to our local environment. For the right applicant, the role can adapt and grow. The hours are somewhat negotiable, for the right applicant.
