Why our team needs you

Our Sustainable Environment & Facilities department are currently looking for Environmental Design Officer to provide specialist advice on managing the storm water environmental impacts of road sealing activities. The officer will help to identify catchment and sub-catchment scale solutions to ensure that storm water treatment is delivered in an environmentally responsible way. The officer will work closely with a range of stakeholders including Melbourne Water, community and council's Infrastructure Services team to deliver WSUD solutions that provide co-benefits to the environment, the community and the Roads for Community project.

What you’ll bring to our team

  • Qualifications in Water Sensitive Urban Design, Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in catchment hydrology projects, WSUD design and construction, storm water environmental impact assessments and/or equivalent experience in storm water management systems principles and practices
  • Skills in working with multiple stakeholders is essential to this role, as is an ability to navigate the statutory acts, guidelines, strategies and policies relevant to storm water management

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Yarra Ranges Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2021 and our Corporate Code of Conduct. Applicants will require the following:

  • Police Check - renewal required every 5 years
