AECOM's pipeline of work continues to grow and as a result, we are seeking applications from experienced Environmental Planners / Engineers / Scientists to join our Impact Assessment and Permitting team in Adelaide to support existing projects and pursue the exciting opportunities ahead.

This is a fantastic opportunity for technical growth, working across a diverse range of environments both in South Australia, Victoria and other regions across Australia. You will work amongst a team of peers and alongside our diverse range of clients on an array of high profile, major projects predominantly focused on transport, infrastructure, defence and renewables with a potential future across a range of sectors. As part of a multi-disciplinary organisation, this role will see you collaborating with other disciplines, giving you wider exposure and understanding.

Key roles for our Environmental team include:

  • Principal Environmental Planner / Engineer / Scientist.

As a principal, you will have strong environmental advisory and impact assessment experience, a detailed legislative understanding and an excellent industry reputation. Your strong commercial acumen and emotional intelligence will help you to develop and maintain positive relationships to enhance client retention and growth, while you draw on your skills to effectively manage resources, timelines, quality and budgets. You will lead junior team members through work activities by providing technical and operational guidance and support.

  • Senior Environmental Planner / Engineer / Scientist.

As an experienced environmental professional, you will prepare and step up to manage timely and high-quality environmental impact assessments, constraints analyses, strategic assessments, and environmental management plans and assist in the organisation of resources, budgets, and timelines for the management of these projects. You will develop your skills by working collaboratively to prepare advice, reports, and proposals to clients, and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered successfully. You will also be responsible for key project-related tasks as required, which may include studies and assessments, data analysis, technical writing, and presentations.

  • Professional Environmental Planner / Engineer / Scientist.

As a professional within the team, you will have the opportunity to learn first-hand from our in-house senior advisors and technical leaders. You will work collaboratively to prepare and manage timely and high-quality environmental impact assessments, constraints analyses, strategic assessments and environmental management plans, verifying that construction teams are implementing as planned. You will assist in the organisation of resources, budgets and timelines for the management of these projects where needed and to develop effective relationships with our clients, in-house design teams and technical specialists to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

Minimum Requirements

Ideally, you will have:

  • Relevant years post-graduate experience in impact assessment, ideally in a consulting environment.
  • Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • A keen interest in further developing your existing skillset but also broadening your experience across a wide range of projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.
