The role will travel to multiple locations, including upcoming projects in the Biloela / Theodore / Moranbah /Roma areas. Field time away includes paid accommodation and meals.
There are opportunities for learning and developing skills such as ecological burn-related activities.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Central Queensland.
Applicants from the Clermont, Biloela, Theodore, Rockhampton, Gladstone and surrounding areas will be looked upon favourably.
This is not a FIFO role. Applicants from Brisbane or interstate are not suitable.
We are looking for an experienced Environmental Field Officer / Bush Regenerator with Supervisory experience who has the passion, physical capability and skills to undertake weed management and ecological restoration activities.
You will have a passion for the outdoors and the physical capability and skills to undertake the role.
You will have good knowledge of and experience in fieldwork involving weed management, revegetation and restoration activities, including planting.
Experience in or the desire to gain experience in ecological burn preparation and conducting burn activities would be highly regarded.
You will have a strong operational safety focus and the ability to use technology such as online forms and digital timesheets.
You will have a passion for the environment and achieving positive environmental outcomes, a positive attitude and the ability to plan, problem-solve and manage conflicting priorities.
Ideally, you will be looking for a career, not a job, and have an interest in a long term placement.
Role and Key Responsibilities:
Execution of offset environmental projects under the supervision of the project coordinator, including revegetation, large scale weed control, bush regeneration works and preparation for and execution of ecological burns.
Field-based role - physically demanding.
Follow field manual protocols, quality assurance and safety procedures.
Adhere to Ausecology's Mobile Management System, participate in all HSE audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of Ausecology's Mobile Management System by providing feedback or suggestions for improvements.
Complete and submit all forms as they pertain to your project work.
