The Team

The team spends most of its time working directly with its clients either based in project offices, working from home or a combination of both with a focus on delivering quality work that addresses the needs of our clients and their projects. This gives the flexibility to balance work commitments with personal lives.

The business can tap into a wide network of like-minded companies if needed to bring additional expertise or resources to projects including specialist consultants to address matters like air quality, traffic, noise, and groundwater, among others. The principals have fostered strong relationships with clients and have developed relationships with key decision-makers and regulators across Government.

The Role

This role will suit an environmental planning consultant with 5 years + relevant experience. In this position you will consult on a broad range of client projects, including strategic and regulatory planning and approvals work. Key responsibilities include:

• Provide planning and environmental advice to clients to support their projects through the feasibility, due diligence, planning approvals and post-approvals process.
• Engage with regulators, community, and other stakeholders to understand issues and address these through project development and impact assessment.
• Author planning documents to support project development and planning approval.
• Input to the development of policies and guidelines to support reforms to the planning system.
• Manage client engagements including responsibility for technical delivery, program, budget, and client relationships.
• Identify opportunities to grow the business with existing relationships and referrals.

About you

• Tertiary degree/qualification in a relevant discipline such as environmental, planning, or related sciences.
• A high-level of knowledge and experience in the legislative frameworks and policies governing land use planning and environmental impact assessment.
• Relevant environmental/planning consultancy experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• A pro-active, self-motivated approach to their work.
• An ability to research and review documentation, drawing and clearly articulating conclusions and recommendations, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to network and build trusted relationships with clients, specialist consultants, government agencies and community stakeholders.
• An ability to demonstrate judgement, initiative, and leadership qualities.
