The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is a Victorian Government statutory authority whose role it is to work with and support local communities to improve sustainable land, biodiversity and water resources management, in an area stretching from its head office in Colac to Geelong, Ballarat and Peterborough.
About the opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and energetic person to join our fast-paced Floodplains team to provide statutory floodplains and statutory works on waterways functions, flood advice, investigations, and planning.
This position will suit a planner, engineer, or person with knowledge of floodplains and waterways and the statutory obligations of the CMA and Council.
GIS experience would be beneficial to analyse different datasets (rasters and vector layers) and generate maps to demonstrate the impacts of flooding on properties.
In this busy role you will focus on responding to and providing high quality and succinct responses to statutory flood advice requests and planning applications. Additionally, you will provide support and participate in a range of projects within the Floodplain team.
The position is full time, fixed term for 12 months and based primarily in Colac or Geelong. The CMA supports flexible working arrangements and allows for a combination of office based and remote working. The position attracts a base salary of $77,566 - $88,477 per annum (pro-rata for part time) dependent upon relevant experience plus superannuation.
