The Role

Make a difference in our community!

The newly created role of Environmental Planning Coordinator will lead a small team to deliver best practice environmentally sustainable development for our growing community.

The role will provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders in relation to the protection and enhancement of natural values, native vegetation retention and offsets, preservation of waterways, environmentally sustainable design, sustainable energy generation, energy efficiency, integrated water management and circular economy.

The role will support the City of Whittlesea to plan for the management and protection of the environment for current and future generations.

About you

You will have demonstrated experience in environmental planning, preferable in environmentally sensitive and growth areas. In addition, you maintain contemporary knowledge on a wide range of Environmentally Sustainable Design topics and trends focusing on implementation.

You will be able to identify opportunities and strategic directions available to the Council to facilitate the adoption of effective practices by the community, developers and Council concerning environmental protection.

You understand the need to develop and maintain effective relationships between all levels of government, industry, agencies, communities, internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and deliver best practice environmental planning outcomes.
