PMMC Program Manager

Advertiser:

Pilbara Mesquite Management Committee

Location:

Karratha / Pilbara region preferred, WA

Salary etc:

Part-time - 0.6 FTE (to be confirmed based on budget & pay rate)

  • This position has potential to extend to full-time with a Pilbara Regional Biosecurity Group part-time position, if you are successful in applying for both roles (click here to view the PRBG vacancy).

The renumeration package for this position includes a salary, residential, power and travel allowances (total package @ 0.6 FTE is $52,000 + vehicle). In addition to this is the PMMC vehicle that can be used for personal use.

The Pilbara Mesquite Management Committee (PMMC) is a Non-profit, non-government community group established in 2001 to deliver, coordinate, advocate and lead best practice in the integrated management of all significant weed species in the Pilbara region of Western Australia (significant weeds are considered declared as Pests under the Western Australian Biosecurity and Agricultural Management Act 2007 and/ or species listed as Weeds of National Significance)

Our projects are focused on the direct management of several species of significant weeds in partnership with land managers. Monitoring and evaluation of on-ground programs at a site-specific and regional scale are strong components of projects to be managed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Program Manager to deliver contracted weed management programs across the Pilbara landscape, and work with industry (pastoral, mining, government) to develop and implement individual weed management programs across different land tenures.

There is a preferred option for this part time PMMC role to be carried out as part of a full-time role in conjunction with the Pilbara Region Biosecurity Group Executive Officer role; These two roles are both part time and should be able to be delivered concurrently by one person. Ideally, the successful candidate would (over the next 2 to 3 years) secure funding to fully fund both positions as full-time roles.

The renumeration package will include a car (for personal and work use), computer, phone, regional annual travel allowance, residential and power allowances and salary.
