We are looking for experienced Environmental Field Officers (EFO) and Bush Regenerators (multiple roles available) who have the passion, physical capability and skills to undertake weed management and ecological restoration activities.

The role will be based in multiple locations throughout the greater Brisbane area.  There may also be the opportunity to participate in projects further afield in South East Qld which may require several days in the field staying on site at our expense.

There are opportunities for learning and developing skills such as chainsaw and ecological burn related activities.

These are casual roles, however as a growing company there will be opportunities for permanent full or part time roles.

About you:

The ideal candidates will have good knowledge of and experience in field work involving weed management, revegetation and restoration, relevant competencies and a strong operational safety focus.

  • You have at least 1 year of in field bush regeneration or related experience
  • A passion for the environment and achieving positive environmental outcomes
  • Positive attitude, a sense of humour and a love of the outdoors
  • You must be able to find your own way to site
  • This is a field based role and is physically demanding

Role and Key responsibilities:

  • Delivery of environmental projects under supervision including offsets and revegetation, large scale weed control, bush regeneration works and participation in ecological burns
  • Follow field manual protocols, quality assurance and safety procedures
  • Adhere to Ausecology's Mobile Management System, participate in all HSEQ audits and contribute to the continuous improvement of Ausecology's Mobile Management System by providing feedback or suggestions for improvements
  • Complete and submit all HSE forms as they pertain to your project work

Skills and experience:

  • Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or similar area or practical infield experience
  • Plant identification skills – native and exotic across a range of ecosystem types
  • Current manual driver's licence

Desirable experience:

  • Ecological burn experience
  • Chainsaw cross cut and felling
  • 4WD and trailer experience
  • Chemical application for weed control
  • Planting
  • Remote area (rural) work experience favoured
