Bushfires NT Central Australia

Fixed full time vacancy available for 12 months in Alice Springs

The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is seeking a Wildfire Risk Planner to join the Bushfires NT team, with the position located in the Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.

The position mitigates the risks of wildfire by providing professional planning services to implement strategic bushfire risk management across Central Australia in line with broader sustainable land management strategies, in collaboration with stakeholders across a wide geographical area.

The position is integral to the identifying and planning for operational activities and responses undertaken by technical staff across Central Australia, particularly in preparation and response to fire seasons.

Bushfires NT leads rural bushfires management in the Northern Territory. It works with landowners and the wider community to manage bushfires by providing support for mitigation, management and suppression activities and by coordinating landowner and volunteer participation in response to wildfires.
