The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is seeking a Fire Management Officer, Preparedness and Engagement to join the Bushfires NT team, with the position located in the Katherine region of the Northern Territory.

The position coordinates preparedness for bushfire management, assisting with regional fire management capability including liaising with stakeholders associated with fire management programs, coordinating regional community engagement programs and implementing regional compliance and enforcement programs. The position is integral to the operational activities and responses undertaken by staff across the Savanna region, particularly in preparation and response to the Top End fire seasons.

Bushfires NT leads rural bushfires management in the Northern Territory. It works with landowners and the wider community to manage bushfires by providing support for mitigation, management and suppression activities and by coordinating landowner and volunteer participation in response to wildfires.
