  • The North Coast Local Land Services region extends from Tweed Shire Council in the north to Port Macquarie-Hastings Council in the south and covers an area of approximately 32,120 sq km. The landscape is full of diverse natural landscapes and a mix of temperate and subtropical climates which provide nationally recognised biodiversity and wilderness and wetland areas, and complex and diverse soil systems. The north coast is a region of vibrant towns, villages and communities and the people have a strong connection to their healthy, natural and productive landscapes and seascapes and the lifestyles, culture and opportunities they create.
  • The Hunter Local Land Services region covers an area of 33,000 square kilometres east of the Great Dividing Range, from the dramatic sandstone escarpments and gorges of the Goulburn River, to the rich alluvial floodplains of the Hunter and Williams Rivers. The natural resources of the Hunter region support a wide range of industries, including agriculture, coal mining, power generation, forestry, fishing, tourism and recreation. Residential and commercial development dominates the coastal fringe.

We’re looking for people to join our teams. We need highly motivated and experienced professionals who are passionate about rural land management and are keen to make a difference, working hand in hand with landowners to ensure that land management legislation is both understood and followed.

What you need to do this role:

  • Previous experience and/or qualifications in Land Management and/or Natural Resource Management
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, accurately interpret legislation and provide timely advice
  • Demonstrated ability to follow processes
  • Demonstrated experience in using Client Relationship databases and ArcGIS or equivalent platform
  • Demonstrated interest/curiosity in native vegetation and desirable that you are familiar with the use of botanical keys
  • Previous experience engaging and forming strong relationships with landholders
  • Proven experience in leading and taking charge of projects, with strong written and verbal communication skills

These senior roles work with landholders in the implementation of land management legislation and assessment of related applications.

You’ll also be able to work within and lead small project teams and operate autonomously with limited supervision and simply get things done.
