We're currently seeking an outstanding early - mid career Aquatic Ecologist / Aquatic Environmental Scientist for our Cleveland office. The successful candidate will have a sound working knowldge of:

  • marine plants - saltmarsh, mangroves and seagrass (and field ID skills);
  • basic water and sediment chemistry - you understand water quality objectives and contaminant trigger values and can interpret water quality results; and 
  • ARC GIS - you're able to create simple, clear mapping layers based on satellite imagery.

The successful candidate will also have a high degree of competency in the field (4WD and / or boating / diving experience an advantage).

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • contributing to project planning and implementation
  • undertaking field preparation, field team leadership, and field survey and data collection - you may spend up to 50% of your time in the field
  • undertaking laboratory work: sorting, enumeration, identification, sample preparation, etc.
  • data management, statistical analysis and presentation
  • GIS
  • on-line / library research
  • report drafting
  • client and collaborator liaison
  • role-modeling frc environmental's core values and policies.

You will report directly to our Senior Principal - Wetlands, and work alongside enthusiastic and committed aquatic ecologists and environmental scientists, typically in small project-focused teams.
