The ARC Research Hub for Sustainable Onshore Lobster Aquaculture is offering multiple PhD projects investigating lobster nutrition, health, engineering and social sciences.

Successful applicants will join a large lobster research program at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies and contribute to cutting edge lobster aquaculture research.

The Univerity of Tasmania was awarded a prestigious $5 million Australian Research Council (ARC) grant through the Industrial tranformation Research program. This funding helped establish the ARC Research Hub for Sustainable Onshore Lobster Aquaculture, which aims to deliver the world’s first sustainable onshore lobster aquaculture industry focused on commercial, sustainable and socially acceptable lobster production from hatchery to market.

Key partners in this University of Tasmania led research project are the University of Auckland, University of the Sunshine Coast, and Australian industry partners Ornatas Pty Ltd and PFG Group.
