The Western Local Land Service region is the largest in NSW, covering 314,500 km² or 40 percent of the state. It is larger than Victoria and Tasmania combined. Despite its size, it is the least densely populated region, with a population of approximately 42,873 people (18,500 of whom live in the city of Broken Hill).
In NSW there is a range of land management activities you can do as part of the Land Management and Biodiversity Framework and this is where the role of Senior Land Services Officer comes in.
We’re looking for people to join the team - people who are passionate about rural land management and biodiversity conservation and are keen to make a difference, working hand in hand with landowners to ensure that land management is both understood and followed. What you need:
Ideally, you’ll have previous experience and/or qualifications in Land Management, as well as previous experience engaging and forming strong relationships with landholders. Experience in leading and taking charge of projects, with strong written and verbal communication skills and experience supervising team members and providing support where needed is also required.
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake a functional health assessment as part of their pre-employment conditions before an offer on employment can be made.
A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for ongoing and temporary roles of the same standard that may become available for filling over the next eighteen months. The successful applicant in this role may be required to undergo a police check, health assessment and other assessments as required.
