Ecologist (Mid-Level or Senior)
Lismore, Northern NSW
Are you seeking a company that:
ReconEco is a small, well-established environmental consultancy based in Lismore on the NSW North Coast. The company is loosely divided into two business strains namely the ‘ecology’ section and the ‘threatened species protection’ section (incl. feral animal monitoring and control). The ecology section works throughout Northern NSW and the Northern Tablelands undertaking field surveys and preparing a variety of reports including Biodiversity Assessments, Reviews of Environmental Factors, Vegetation Management Plans, Construction Environmental Management Plans and the like. As part of both the ecology and threatened species protection strains ReconEco runs a conservation detection dog team (Springer Spaniels Jet and Frankie!) that undertake surveys for threatened fauna (Koala), feral animals (foxes and feral cats) and invasive invertebrates (Yellow Crazy Ants).
ReconEco is different from some consultancies in that we are a little selective in the jobs we take on and try to target projects that align with our environmental goals/ethics and are more enjoyable to work on.
ReconEco is seeking to appoint a mid-level or senior level consulting ecologist to form part of an expanding ecology team and help deliver high quality field surveys and reports. It is important for the successful candidate to be experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently (we are a small company of field ecologists and we aren’t always around) and as part of a team (sometimes we’re around!). It is essential that the candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce well-written correspondence and reports.
