The role:

Due to growth, we are seeking multiple motivated and enthusiastic Ecologist’s with experience in ecology and the consultancy industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out biodiversity projects in the region, including in large renewable energy and linear infrastructure projects. You will use your knowledge and experience to plan and conduct field work, directing in-house field teams, analyse data, prepare reports, and provide advice to clients.


  • Carry out flora or fauna identification and typing, including regular field surveys
  • Plan and complete field surveys, in accordance with relevant NSW, Commonwealth and ACT survey guidelines
  • Prepare biodiversity assessments, management plans and offset strategies, in accordance with relevant guidance documents
  • Provide assessment advice in accordance with relevant regulatory framework and justify your decisions in accordance with this framework
  • Identify/provide practical solutions to mitigate environmental impacts
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Manage your own projects as well as contribute to the projects of other staff as required
  • Maintain networks with experts, regulators and complete research where required

About you

This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to manage your own projects, work on renewable energy projects in diverse landscapes and be supported by industry leaders across eastern Australia. With excellent organisational capabilities to manage multiple bids and writing teams, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in flora identification and vegetation typing 
  • Knowledge of ACT, NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policy
  • Demonstrated experience with GIS
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Manual drivers' licence
