About the role

We have an exceptional opportunity for a highly capable Environmental Compliance Officer, internally known as a Compliance Assurance Specialist to join our team here at Forestry Corporation. You will report directly to the Senior Compliance Manager and be responsible for developing and implementing compliance assurance monitoring and advisory programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop compliance monitoring plans and tools
  • Work with staff and contractors in the field/regional offices to ensure they understand and implement environmental compliance requirements
  • Develop training and other advisory materials and deliver training
  • Undertake investigations to determine root cause of breaches, and and develop innovative solutions to ensure future compliance

About you

  • Have a sound understanding of the compliance function gained from tertiary qualifications or relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assess and improve our compliance performance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex matters effectively
  • Value the NSW timber industry and understand the role of environmental compliance in ensuring continuing social licence
  • Be self-motivated, have strong organisational skills, be able to work autonomously and willing to travel
  • Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude to promote a positive compliance culture
  • Experience delivering operational training and hold qualifications in training and assessment desirable but not essential
