Salary etc:

Hour rate of $40 /hour, plus superannuation and leave entitlements.

The project officer will assist district Landcare networks to develop and run events and information hubs to support private landowners committed to biodiversity conservation on their properties. They will need to work closely with the Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) regional office.

The key objectives of the project are to:

  • Build understanding and capacity between the BCT and Landcare regions to complement each other's knowledge and skills, in order to work together to better deliver for our shared communities.
  • Build biodiversity conservation knowledge with landholders through communication and education initiatives. This will be delivered through grant funding to eligible groups who wish to participate.
  • Increase the participation of landholders in private land conservation programs.


  1. Work directly with Landcare groups to support existing information hubs and support the development of emerging hubs.
  2. Encourage and support landholders with a conservation interest and BCT agreement holders to connect with local Landcare networks.
  3. Project manage all aspects of the program including support and allocation of funds to district landcare networks for landcare led learning events.
  4. Undertake communication and information sharing activities to promote private land conservation including developing case studies for print & social media platforms.
  5. Reporting on project progress to project steering group and Landcare NSW

Reporting and Management

The project officer will report to a Project Management team. The project officer will work as part of the SEL team, which comprises volunteers and paid staff working on other projects.
