About the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute

We are an independent, not-for-profit Institute based in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains.

We address environmental challenges in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, with a focus on conservation issues that have national and international relevance.

We conduct research, deliver education programs, collaborate extensively and engage with communities to develop and implement strategies for conservation and sustainability.

About the Position

We are seeking to recruit an experienced programs manager to oversee the Institute research and programs, including managing existing projects and teams, initiating new projects, applying for funding and ensuring the delivery of agreed project outcomes.

This position reports to and works closely with the Executive Director, as well as reporting quarterly to our Programs Advisory Group and collaborating with partners, staff and stakeholders.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in working with a broad, diverse research network that takes an interdisciplinary approach to environmental issues through research projects that address ecological, socio-cultural and economic dimensions.

The successful applicant will have a PhD,  Masters degree or equivalent experience, and preferably a background in environmental research or natural resource management, plus a proven record of research collaboration and capabilities in securing grant funding.
