Temporary part-time (14.5 hours per week until 24/12/2022). $67,060 p.a. (pro rata - LGO Level 3)

What we are looking for:

A unique opportunity exists for a creative and motivated individual to join and help implement our Land for Wildlife conservation activities on the Fraser Coast.

The Land for Wildlife Officer is responsible for delivering and implementing community-based Land for Wildlife conservation activities, as well as coordinating Land for Wildlife partnership agreements with landholders across the Fraser Coast LGA.

The successful applicant will have a Cert 4 in Conservation and Land Management at a minimum and extensive experience in bushland management and environmental education as well as Local Government experience in an environmental based role. Other graduate qualifications in environmental science or environmental education would be highly regarded.

What you should have to apply:

  • Extensive experience in bushland management and environmental education
  • Experience in land assessment and in providing recommendations for bushland restoration
  • Experience in managing workshops and events
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in data base management
  • Australian Association of Bush Regenerators (AABR) Certified (or working towards)
  • Outstanding work ethic
  • Queensland Class “C” drivers’ licence
