Reef Catchments (Mackay Whitsunday Isaac) Limited (Reef Catchments) is the regional natural resource management organisation based in Mackay and the Whitsundays, Queensland. We work regionally to execute projects to meet high standards of environmental excellence and corporate responsibility.
With a strong team of environmental researchers, scientists and facilitators, Reef Catchments is uniquely placed to progress sound communication, engagement and partnerships across diverse stakeholders by virtue of our extensive experience in the public and private sectors, non-government and not-for-profit sectors, industry peak bodies and community groups.
Underpinning our work is the belief that sustainability is holistic. It’s about the connection between the environment, the economy and the community. The Reef Catchments team has years of experience in planning and implementing projects that foster sustainability across land and sea and protect our coasts and biodiversity. Our vision is “Resilient ecosystems, engaged community”. The purpose of Reef Catchments is to enable sustainable natural resource management in the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region for the benefit of all.
Reef Catchments is seeking 2 suitably experienced individuals to join our Board of Directors in Mackay to represent the Business and Community sectors of our region. Ideally, candidates will have experience in their sector and management and/or Board experience and would be based in Mackay.
The Board provides strategic, risk and governance support to the CEO and Executive team of the organisation. Relevant skills and expertise in the area of environmental services or natural resource management will be regarded favourably.
The position is remunerated (sitting fee), and Board Meetings are held bi-monthly in Mackay, during business hours.
