Bushfires NT (BFNT) are developing a number of tools to improve the efficacy of bushfire management planning across the NT as part of the Bushfire Management Planning Framework.
This project will focus on building a quarterly assessment on seasonal bushfire potential to inform on strategic, tactical and operational priorities. The assessment will involve examining an aggregation of information including fire history, climate drivers, fuel, rainfall and land use. In addition to internal planning, the developed methodology will be used to inform the quarterly Australian Bushfire Outlook.
The project officer is responsible for the management of an externally funded project to develop a seasonal bushfire potential outlook assessment and planning toolkit to assist NT fire management agencies in identifying and managing bushfire risk, including project coordination, development of quality assurance processes and reporting.
