Conservation Volunteers Australia activates communities to get nature back in balance.

Since 1982, we have delivered environmental and social outcomes across Australia through practical conservation activities with volunteers in urban and regional areas.

As we enter a new era for our organisation, we are renewing our focus on five key Campaigns to better tackle community and conservation challenges across Australia. Through these Campaigns, we develop collaborative partnerships which bring together the expert knowledge, land, people and resources to create better futures for the species in need and communities around them, over multiple years.

We are now recruiting for people with skills and experiences to carry us forward in this new chapter. We are offering you the opportunity to work in a role where you will find purpose, exercise your autonomy and engage in collaboration internally and externally to bring projects to life and make a positive difference for communities and ecosystems around the country.

Project Officers, Wild Futures

Based in NSW, the Wild Futures Project Officer will be working across a variety of projects, actively involved in reducing threats to threatened species and places. As a Wild Futures project Officer you will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of project outcomes with a priority placed on safety.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working outdoors and leading others to achieve practical results.  You’ll actively execute your project plans to achieve its goals and work closely with and be supported by the Project Manager. You will coordinate project tasks and logistics and provide support within your team.

The Wild Futures Project Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of the Wild Futures Campaign projects.

Working as part of the Campaign Team, you’ll apply your experience and your aptitude for community engagement to ensure that the project achieves the change it has been designed to achieve. As a Wild Futures Project Officer you’ll translate your technical knowledge of threatened species and environmental conservation into practical action and be a strong advocate for at-scale community participation to meet the objectives of the Wild Futures Campaign.

You’ll actively engage audiences in your project and its story, and execute your project’s plans to achieve its goals. In this, you’ll work closely with and be supported by your Campaign Project Manager, other Project Officers in the Project team, our Engagement, Communications and Safety teams, our processes and procedures, and the wider CVA staff community. You will be accountable to your Campaign Project Manager for the quality and timeliness of your work.
