Hort360 Great Barrier Reef Officer (2 positions)

$70-$85,000 p.a. + 10% super & a vehicle
This position is currently funded through to August 2022 with strong indications of further funding.

Opportunity / Role
The Hort360 Great Barrier Reef program (Hort360GBR) has been operating across the GBR catchment for several years. As the Hort360GBR Officer it will be your role to engage horticulture growers, provide technical support and extension activities to assist improvements in on farm management practices.
The suitable applicant will ideally have some hands-on experience in the production horticulture industry with natural resource management knowledge a definite advantage. Your ability to assist growers implement improved practices relating to nutrient, sediment, pesticide and irrigation through extension and implementation of best management practice frameworks will be ideal for this position.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Ag Science, Environmental Management etc) would be favourable but not essential.
If you are hard-working, practical and highly motivated with great communication skills this job will be ideal.
A current C class manual driver’s licence is essential – with some travel involved in the position, including occasional nights away from home.
