The Project Manager will manage the implementation of specific existing and newly developing projects under TLaWC’s Land Management Strategy. Projects managed by the role will focus on access to and management of land for cultural, environmental and economic purposes particularly regarding the purchase of land and its operational set-up.

This role requires travel across Taungurung Country.

Key Duties:

  • Undertake project management duties for assigned projects including development and tracking of project documentation including budgets and timelines.
  • Coordinate the input of project team members including inter-disciplinary expert staff and external contractors and collaborators.
  • Ensure that project-related funding obligations are met in line with funding agreements.
  • Undertake the management of staff as assigned including allocating tasks, tracking progress and performance management.
  • Undertake regular reporting of progress to direct manager.
  • Management of future direct reports

Selection Criteria:

Required knowledge and skills

  1. Tertiary qualifications such as natural resource management, project management, economic development or previous relevant experience such as; planning and managing complex projects including producing and maintaining project management documentation, timelines and budgets.
  2. Demonstrated organisational skills to coordinate multiple projects and competing priorities.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise, engage, coordinate and negotiate across stakeholders and collaborators with a wide range of expertise and backgrounds.
  4. Previous experience managing funding agreements including producing timely reports.
  5. An aptitude for problem solving and lateral thinking and an eye for detail.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as managing and supporting team members.
