Salary: $87,640 to $99,438 + super

The Grampians Region has seen a push for increased urban development, recreational facilities and infrastructure requiring a strong need for staff skilled in environmental advice to support the assessment of environmental risk for priority development proposals.

As a Natural Environment Programs Officer, you will be part of a team that works closely with planners and local government to utilise your native vegetation and biodiversity expertise, ensuring that impacts to natural values are minimised and projects comply with all planning processes and legislative requirements.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification related to natural resource management and or relevant experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in natural resource assessment processes, preferably focused on biodiversity and native vegetation management and related legislation

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2022.

The location of this position is negotiable within the Grampians Region.

Preferred candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a National Police Check.
