The opportunity has arisen for a Senior Wildlife Biologist to join our Wildlife Services team in the Southeast Queensland Region. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in biology, project management, proposal and report writing and have strongly grounded business development skills. You will manage multiple and multi-faceted projects from inception to completion, undertaking work throughout Queensland. The aim of Wildlife Services is to achieve best practice wildlife management outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications in one or more of: wildlife biology, ecology, environmental science, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years consulting and project management experience
  • Excellent fauna and flora identification skills, including their management principles
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth, Queensland and interstate environmental legislation
  • Demonstrated business development and client liaison skills
  • Fluent proposal, report writing ability and technical writing skills.
  • Strong project management to deliver within scope, budget, and timeframes.
  • High level interpersonal and client relationship management skills including aptitude for developing customer relationships.
  • Ability to create a pipeline of forward work through strong client liaison skills and business development.
  • Passionate about wildlife and achieving positive environmental outcomes.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Manual Drivers Licence
  • First Aid/CPR.
  • Ideally you will have experience mentoring a small team of professionals and the ability to:
    • organise, resource/schedule allocation of work across teams and projects.
    • evaluate and performance manage.
    • build successful team dynamics.
