Salary range $24K to $26K p.a. (2 days/week)

South Gippsland Landcare Network is seeking a part-time Biodiversity Protection Officer to prepare a draft Biodiversity Protection Plan for South Gippsland. SGLN intends that the Biodiversity Plan will be used by stakeholders to guide future biodiversity protection in South Gippsland.

  • Tenure: 12 months (0.4 EFT)
  • Commences: early/mid July 2021
  • Location: Leongatha with work from home flexibility
  • Education: Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, ecology or related field
  • Experience: NRM project management, facilitation, communication, report writing especially NRM/biodiversity management plans, biodiversity mapping

The role will involve:

  • working with and organising meetings of a Scientific Advisory Committee
  • collaborating with and organizing meetings of Key Stakeholders for input into the development of a Biodiversity Protection Plan
  • mapping, collating and interpreting data
  • preparing a draft Biodiversity Protection Plan for stakeholder approval before 30 June 2022
