Western Conservation is seeking applications for Conservation Field Technicians to join the business, initially as casuals, with the potential to secure a full-time position.

To be considered, you must:

  • Hold a current WA manual drivers licence
  • Hold or be eligible to hold, a current WA Dept of Health issued Pesticide Technician Licence
  • Have experience in all types of herbicide application techniques
  • Be competent and have experience in the use and maintenance of Chainsaw
  • Have completed, or currently studying (as a minimum), Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management
  • Be able to identify alien flora from Western Australian native flora
  • Have experience in operating a 4WD utility
  • Be physically fit and motivated
  • Be an Australian resident entitled to work in Australia
  • Be reliable

Your application will be further enhanced if you have:

  • Previous experience in Field Conservation work, including:
  • use of Brush cutter for the control of weeds
  • experience in fence construction and maintenance
  • experience and competency in undertaking vegetation condition and weed mapping using GPS and ArcGIS
  • Current WA Pesticide Technician licence, endorsed for Boom spray operations
  • Civil construction experience
  • HR/HC licence
  • Experience in skid steer, loader, and or digger operations
  • Remote area work
  • Able to work away for up to two weeks at a time

 The work undertaken by Western Conservation is varied and physically demanding.
