Senior Land Management Officer

Our land management team is seeking a candidate that can use their great relationship building and effective communication skills to collaborate with our team and our customers. To assist in facilitating third party access to Permanent Timber Production Zone (PTPZ) land across the North West of Tasmania.   The successful applicant must have the ability to develop a strong understanding of the Forest Practices Code, Forest Activity Assessments, licensing, permits and the ability to participate in firefighting duties in peak season.

Position Accountabilities and Selection Criteria 

  • Facilitate in the establishment and be responsible for on the ground management of new leases, licences and other property agreements with external stakeholders.
  • Assist with general stakeholder engagement with government, community groups, businesses and the general public.
  • Prepare assessments and permits as required for external stakeholders using internal systems.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrate strong administration and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated experience in a similar position e.g. resource sector, project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering work plans within budget and on time.
  • Experience in effectively resolving stakeholder management issues in a complex working environment.
  • Experience in the forestry sector will be highly regarded but is not essential.
