Tipperary Group of Stations is comprised of:

  • Tipperary Station,
  • Douglas West Station; and
  • Litchfield Station.

Tipperary, Litchfield, and Douglas West are all prime agricultural holdings containing large tracts of productive and well-draining soils, vast areas of developed pastures, reliable access to water sources, extensive infrastructure, and significant economies of scale. 

The Group is currently in an exciting growth phase with strategic plans being executed in key areas including cattle breeding and backgrounding, farming, fodder production, and horticulture.   


The group is located 2 hours south of Darwin and the properties enjoy year-round access with sealed roads to the farm gate. Tipperary also has a 2,200m sealed airstrip. 


Reporting to the General Manager, the Rangelands and Conservation Manager will be responsible for the management and implementation of various conservation plans and initiatives including weed management, fire management, and land use approvals across the Tipperary Group of Stations. 

Key responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement conservation plans and budgets for areas identified as being of high conservation and biodiversity value.
  • Assist with fire planning, fire management, and fire suppression, including understanding and managing carbon reduction schemes.
  • Undertake mapping and site evaluation through the use of Geographical Information Systems and/or surveyed locations.
  • Work with pastoral management to ensure sustainable land management practices are carried out on primary production properties, including providing advice in respect to sustainability and impact of grazing and land clearing, and assists in identifying and remedying areas suffering land degradation.
  • Identify appropriate grants and permits and manage their administration
  • Safe use and maintenance of station plant and machinery
  • Manage weed and pest programs

Education and Experience 

  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science/ Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, or similar, would be highly advantageous
  • Advanced mechanical knowledge and relevant experience essential.
  • Shooting Licence and ACUP would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to or understanding of farm production would be an advantage.
  • Applicants should be familiar with the Microsoft suite and ArcGIS mapping programs.
