Job Summary

Key role associated with successful park operation in the Upper Limestone Coast District.

The Senior Ranger is a key role associated with successful park operation, is responsible for the management and supervision of employees and contractors and the development of a range of operational programs and projects.

The position coordinates the delivery of programs associated with conservation and wildlife management, maintenance and presentation of park facilities and assets, visitor management, effective and positive working relationships with key partners including Aboriginal communities, park neighbours, lessees and volunteers. Also requires active participation in fire management and emergency response.

Special Conditions:

  • Will be required to participate in emergency operations. This may require at times, some out of hours work including the participation in an ‘on-call’ roster.
  • Will be required to undertake a medical and fitness assessment for a Fire Fighting Role Classification.
  • Will be required to wear a uniform in accordance with DEW policy.
  • Will be required to work some weekends and public holidays.
  • A current class C driver’s licence, and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4WD, is essential.
  • Intra and interstate travel is required, including extended periods of time away from home and travel in light aircraft.
  • Current first aid certificate is essential.
  • This role has functions pertaining to working with children therefore a Working With Children Check is required.
  • A National Police Clearance is essential.
