The Rum Jungle Rehabilitation unit is looking for an experienced land management coordinator to lead all field based programs and the training and development of Traditional Owner Land Management Trainees, to develop and safely deliver land management activities within the Rum Jungle Rehabilitation site.
Working in a small team to achieve the objectives and outcomes of the Federal Funding Agreement for the Management of the Former Rum Jungle Mine Site (Stage 2B), you will oversee the training and development of a team of 11 Trainees, providing effective leadership, mentoring and guidance to
co-ordinate the implementation of approved land management plans and programs.
You will have sound knowledge and understanding of conservation and natural resource management, as well as demonstrated experience working in remote/regional/Aboriginal communities and/or with mining, pastoral or tourism industry members. In addition, you will have demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team of field-based staff working outdoors in remote and challenging conditions, incorporating equal employment and Work Health and Safety principles and a strong safety culture.
This position is part of a small dynamic team, and fieldwork will be required, often in physically challenging environments.
