Salary etc:

$90,000 - $140,000 p.a. Full-time or part-time

RMCG is a genuinely terrific workplace, full of people determined to support positive change in regional communities, agriculture and the environment. In our consulting work, small groups of smart, principled people come together to provide valuable insight and advice to a wide range of clients. In the office, we come together casually over lunch (which is provided every day) to catch up, support and learn from each other. The business supports our team to develop skills and networks so that we can grow and increase our influence together.

We provide consulting services on a range of business, environmental, agricultural and social issues. We are a dynamic team with versatile skills in the areas of water management, the environment, economics, social research, strategic planning, agribusiness and community engagement.

Our community and strategy team works collaboratively across all of RMCG’s practice areas. The team’s skills in facilitation, engagement and strategy are underpinned by our grounded expertise in specific subject matter areas: regional development, agriculture, environment and water.

We are looking for someone to join our team with exceptional engagement and strategy skills with a background in regional development, agriculture and/or the environment. The successful candidate will be passionate about working with us to make a difference in regional communities, environment and/or agriculture.

Ideally, we are looking for an experienced professional with exceptional engagement and strategy skills. If you’re relatively new in your career and still building these skills, we welcome you to put yourself forward and convince us!

You will work in small teams with other RMCG consultants to review policy and programs, design and conduct engagement, and prepare effective strategy on a broad range of issues relevant to your expertise.

Recent work has included resilience planning, engagement planning for circular economies, Council Plan facilitation, strategy development for the water sector and evaluation of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) programs.

The work that you will undertake will include:

  • Design and delivery of community and/or stakeholder engagement
  • Research and development of strategic plans
  • Evaluation of policy and programs in regional development, agriculture, environment and water
  • Writing clear, plain English reports that capture findings, insights and recommendations from projects
  • Project management
  • Day-to-day client liaison, and presenting findings to clients
  • Business development, including networking, marketing and proposal-writing
  • Contributing positively to our culture.
  • Please note that the position will involve some travel

Our company culture is really important to us. We are friendly, supportive and enjoy coming to work. Our culture is supported by exceptional conditions including lunches every day, paid parental leave, income protection insurance and staff profit share. We value work/life balance and we offer a highly flexible approach to work management.

The remuneration package for the position will be negotiated with the preferred applicant, but packages will range from $90,000 for someone with less experience, to $140,000 for a highly experienced consulting professional.
