Work to commence in June,  Fixed Term, Full Time Contract over 12 months. 



About the Role

Responsible for the on-ground works supervision and training of Bushfire Recovery Conservation Trainees undertaking natural resources management (NRM) activities, including bush regeneration, weed control, revegetation, species and site assessments, landscaping, nursery and light construction.

Provided with this role is a fleet vehicle to be used for transporting participants and equipment to the conservation sites, laptop and a mobile phone.

Some of the key duties of this role include:

  • Supervise, motivate, guide, support and direct the activities, work practices and techniques of a trainee team undertaking environmental restoration, light construction and maintenance activities, ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • In conjunction with the Program Coordinator / Manager, identify, schedule and prioritize work activities, ensuring that adequate resources and equipment are available for the efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Support the delivery of training in accordance with the VET Quality Framework and to the requirements of Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management.
  • Assist trainees to develop employability skills and pathways to employment, including through job referrals and assistance with applications.
  • Assist with project administration, including attendance records, budget control, scheduling, vehicle management, WHS records, project planning and reporting.
  • Liaise and develop linkages with project partners, including land managers, community groups, the public and others and promote Envite’s activities and services.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervising NRM projects.
  • Experience supervising teams to perform fieldwork activities.
  • Strong understanding of best practice bush regeneration, landscaping, light
    construction and nursery techniques.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Integrated Risk Management systems,
    processes, and their relationship to the position.
  • Experience operating machinery/tools safely and effectively. 


  • Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervising NRM projects. 


  • Current Chemical Users certificate. 
  • Qualifications and experience in First Aid. 
  • Qualifications and experience in Chainsaw Operations. 
  • Industry recognized and accredited training qualifications (e.g. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment).
