We have an opportunity for a Manager, Market Access and Systems to be part of our Biosecurity SA Division within The Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Manager, Market Access and Systems is part of the Plant and Food Standards Group within Biosecurity SA.
The primary purpose of the role is for managing and developing a range of significant resources, staff, and infrastructure, including being responsible for the integrity and maintenance of the Plant Health aspects of the PIIMS database, which houses information relating to plant health related accreditations and registrations, the Plant Health Auditing Program, the SIS and PIIMS Invoicing requirements and the Genetically Modified Organisms Monitoring Program.
The role contributes to delivering the agency’s priorities including maintaining market access by working with primary industries to respond to evolving requirements of domestic and global markets and consumers.
The role contributes to delivering the goals and objectives of the Plant Health Program by leading the critical plant and plant product market access programs and projects. In this capacity the position is responsible for leading a team to implement state-wide import and export market access arrangements, including certification, registration, accreditation, import verification, and development, negotiation, and implementation of other market access-based systems.
The Manager, Market Access and Systems coordinates, develops and strategically manages the delivery of effective stakeholder and industry liaison, including leading education and awareness campaigns, and conducting high level consultations with, and providing expert advice to, a range of Plant Health stakeholders, including national Market Access groups and committees, equivalent counterparts in other State jurisdictions and the Australian Government.

Location of the role is at the Biosecurity SA, Glenside office, but the incumbent may be required to relocate within South Australia.
