pakana Services is an Aboriginal land management team providing a reliable land management and maintenance service while giving Aboriginal Tasmanians the opportunity to work on the land.

We are an Aboriginal Social Enterprise providing contracting services in all areas of land management, conservation works and maintenance and have a comprehensive and compliant Work Health and Safety System.  Services include: brush cutting; weed control (spraying, cut - paste and hand weeding); fencing; tree planting; seed collection; track construction and maintenance.

Due to an increase in recently acquired work, pakana Services is currently looking for Casual Bushland Regenerators.

Positions will be based in the Hobart area, but may require work across Tasmania at various times. Reports to: pakana Services Manager.

To be considered for these positions’ applicants need to be able to demonstrate they have the following qualifications and experience:

• Have completed a Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management or Horticulture
• Have a valid Chemcert certificate and in-depth knowledge of chemical application
• Experience in plant and weed recognition
• Have a current drivers licence
• Be able to supervise small teams
• Be competent in the use of a GPS
• Work independently and without Supervision
• Monitor all activities to ensure work is carried out to a high standard
• Be able to carry out work within given time frames
• Complete basic paperwork at the end of each day detailing the day’s activities, spray records, photo monitoring and a daily report.
• Be able to follow instructions as outlined by the Manager and/or Supervisor
• Work safely and efficiently and lead by example
• Ensure all appropriate PPE is worn by everyone in the team
