Natural Area Consulting Management Services (Natural Area) has a vacancy for a full-time Environmental Manager within our Perth based depots for an immediate start.

Our Environmental Manager will be accountable for planning, managing and coordinating the implementation and ongoing assessment of environmental management systems and processes. They will be responsible for identifying, solving and alleviating environmental bushland issues, in compliance with environmental legislation and to ensure a sustainable future for all.

The Environmental Manager will perform field works and manage a team specifically with a focus on weed control (chemical and manual), erosion control and revegetation and community liaison.

The duties include:

1. Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development.
2. Manage all aspects of revegetation, erosion control, weed control, waste management, feral management control, dieback control, and fire fuel reduction.
3. Carry out surveys/impact assessments.
4. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
5. Contribute and report on environmental performance.
6. Promote and raise awareness of the impact of emerging environmental issues.
7. Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities.

Are you a good fit for Natural Area? The answer is Yes, if you meet the following requirements:

• A relevant tertiary qualification at bachelor’s degree or diploma level with minimum 2 years’ experience in environmental management.
• Understanding of commercial productivity requirements.
• Familiar with relevant environmental legislation.
• Knowledge of and ability to identify Perth bushland plants and weeds; with a real interest in bushland conservation.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with weed control, fire fuel reduction and native revegetation planting techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership skills and experience in managing people.
• Experience in environmental project management and surveys/impact assessments.
• Physically fit, self-motivated with a growth mindset.
• Currently living in Perth WA or willing to relocate, and Australian resident/citizen.

The following specific personal licences and additional qualifications are required for employment:

• Health Department of WA pesticide licence
• Manual WA Drivers Licence: C class or higher required
• Current First Aid (and CPR) certificate
• Chainsaw certification
• Police clearance

If candidates don’t currently possess these licences, they will need to be completed at the applicant’s time and expense within a given time frame prior to commencing employment, if employment offer is made.
