The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is seeking a Fire Management Officer – Risk Management to join the Bushfires NT team, with the position located in the Katherine region of the Northern Territory.

The position will plan and develop regional bushfire management programs that are integrated and risk management focused. This includes the development and review of planned burning programs that aim to reduce bushfire risk to Northern Territory communities within geographical, technical and financial limits. The position is integral to the operational activities and responses undertaken by staff across the Savanna region, particularly in preparation and response to the upcoming Top End fire season. 

Bushfires NT leads rural bushfires management in the Northern Territory. It works with landowners and the wider community to manage bushfires by providing support for mitigation, management and suppression activities and by coordinating landowner and volunteer participation in response to wildfires.
