The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security is seeking an Assistant Director Regions to join the Bushfires NT team located at the Acacia Hills Headquarters, 50km south of Darwin, Northern Territory.

The position is responsible for the implementation of bushfire management programs across the Northern Territory, including overseeing the performance and impact of programs and services on Bushfires NT, Volunteer Bushfire Brigades and the Community.

It is integral to supporting operational activities undertaken by staff across the Northern Territory. The position leads and manages 16 operational staff located across three regions. It is a point of reference for fire management operational activities including mitigation programs and wildfire suppression actions.

Bushfires NT leads rural bushfires management in the Northern Territory. It works with landowners and the wider community to manage bushfires by providing support for mitigation, management and suppression activities and by coordinating landowner and volunteer participation in response to wildfires.
