What will you do?

Aurecon’s established Ecology Team is looking for an Ecologist to join our Melbourne team.

Aurecon’s Ecology Team has developed a reputation for high standards of research, fieldwork and reporting. The successful Ecologist will work closely with a friendly and supportive team of highly experienced consultants who specialise in ecology (terrestrial and aquatic), environmental scientists and other environmental disciplines.

The ecology role offers diverse, interesting, and challenging work with an organisation that operates across a wide range of regions, clients and projects. Our forward ecology workload for infrastructure projects across South-Eastern Australia is driving further growth for the business.

The desirable skills and abilities include:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in conducting ecological assessments in Victoria;
  • Demonstrated experience conducting ecological field surveys;
  • Demonstrated report writing, GIS and data management/presentation skills;
  • Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, share knowledge, skills and ideas;
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills;
  • High degree of self-motivation and time management;
  • Understanding of Government related approval processes, Victorian and Commonwealth legislation;
  • Formal qualification in ecology, zoology, botany or related discipline; and
  • A commitment to safety and safe work practices, and a willingness to promote Aurecon's safety culture.

Aurecon’s involvement with infrastructure approvals and construction across Victoria and Australia provides unique and specific opportunities for an ecologist. You will be joining our 60+ strong regional Environment & Planning team within the Advisory practice.
